Cracks in concrete slabs are mostly due to traffic and weather influences and cannot be avoided in today's times of increasing heavy traffic and extreme weather conditions. Cracks can also be caused by inadequate substrates or incorrect joint spacing. A transverse joint exposed to heavy traffic, with poor dowelling, is prone to step formation. If the cracks are not repaired in time, the situation deteriorates visibly. This leads to a deterioration in driving comfort and safety, and in the end all that remains is to replace the slab panels. With our rehabilitation process, we can quickly and effectively rehabilitate cracks in a targeted manner, thus preventing and avoiding the need for expensive replacement of concrete panels that can be detrimental to traffic. In general, dowels should be installed at transverse joints to transfer loads and to secure the level of slabs. For pavements with heavy traffic, dowels are mandatory according to ZTV Beton-StB or TL Beton-StB.
