DSK - Micro Surfacing

POSSEHL DSK (Micro Surfacing) Since the early 1970s POSSEHL SPEZIALBAU has applied the microsurfacing technique as friction enhancement measure on asphalt or concrete roadways in order to improve traffic safety and/or to reduce tire-pavement noise. POSSEHL DSK (Micro Surfacing) is an economic, quick and standardized construction method conforming to the German standards ZTV BEA-StB and TLG Asphalt-DSK-StB for the large scale repair of asphalt surfaces.

Micro Surfacing is made and applied to existing surfaces by a specialist machine which evenly spreads the width of a traffic lane in a single pass. It is capable of filling wheel ruts, to increase friction and to preserve the structure against wear and alligator cracking. POSSEHL DSK (Micro Surfacing) restores friction and smoothness of pavements and considerably prolongs the service life of bituminous traffic roads. The DSK construction method is extremely efficient and environment-friendly. Because of its quick-traffic properties the moving "construction site" only slightly disturbs the traffic. The newly paved road can be reopened to traffic after approx. 30 minutes. Fields of application are among others motorways, national highways (with day and night work), urban roads and airfield pavements (e.g. runway shoulders), of asphalt or concrete.

MESH TRACK and POSSEHL DSK (Micro Surfacing) - MESH TRACK is a steel reinforcing overlay by Bekaert Deutschland GmbH which is embedded in the POSSEHL DSK (Micro Surfacing) to deal with problems such as reflective cracking, slippage and deformations.

Fields of application are e.g. the structural strengthening of motorways, national highways, urban roads and sections of airfield pavements (i.e. take-off and landing runways) on asphalt or concrete pavements with subsequent HMA overlay.
