Diamond Grooving
The grooving process originates in the U.S. Special diamond-equipped machines (Bumpcutter) are used to cut small parallel grooves in concrete or asphalt pavements to improve drainage capability and contact adhesion between tires and surface, thus preventing aquaplaning. Grooving can be used to eliminate crucial danger zones, e.g. slope changes in concrete highways, and to improve driving safety in curves and when braking.Fields of application are among others interstate highways.
