Especially in housing estates - where children play in the street, residents drive or cycle to work every day and elderly people cross the road with or without a walking frame - safe and intact roads are an absolute must. Laarstraße in Gelsenkirchen Mitte, on the other hand, resembled a dangerous patchwork quilt for a long time. Cracks and demolitions made driving difficult and increased the risk of accidents. It was high time for extensive repairs.
With KATFIX Microsurfacing, we not only gave the housing estate a modern look: Rather, the redesigned road impresses with a uniform, grippy and safe road surface that ensures greater safety and blends in perfectly with the surroundings. Thanks to the cold paving method, the construction time was kept to a minimum - instead of closing the road and access routes for residents for weeks, we were able to rectify all surface problems within a few hours. No need for time-consuming resurfacing. In this way, we save a considerable amount of CO₂ and improve the urban carbon footprint.
