EP-GRIP URBAN at Technik Museum Sinsheim
New design for the “Flight Deck” restaurant

A restaurant inspired by the look and feel of an aircraft carrier
Creative design of traffic surfaces

Technik Museum Sinsheim

Located just one hour south of Frankfurt am Main, Technik Museum Sinsheim offers everything that makes technology enthusiasts’ hearts beat faster. From vintage cars and agricultural machinery to Formula 1 legends and racing bikes, as well as the first supersonic jets and commercial aircraft, the museum showcases the greatest milestones in the history of technology.

What could be more fitting than a restaurant that reflects this very passion? Since June 2026, “Flight Deck” has been welcoming visitors on board, attracting them with freshly prepared burgers and snacks and promising a truly elevated experience.

Worn asphalt surface

Before the restaurant was “ready for takeoff,” the outdoor area had to be redesigned. The surface in front of the restaurant was in poor condition. The asphalt was old and showed significant cracks and uneven areas.

The first task for us and the partner companies involved was therefore to prepare and upgrade the substructure. Specifically, this meant repairing damaged areas, eliminating unevenness, and creating a durable, load-bearing base.

EP-GRIP URBAN for an authentic deck

Following this, we applied EP-GRIP URBAN to an area of approximately 500 m². The coating offers several advantages:

  • Safe use in all weather conditions: The slip-resistant surface ensures secure footing at all times.
  • High durability in everyday use: Thanks to EP-GRIP URBAN, the surface permanently withstands mechanical stress. It remains fully functional even after intensive use.
  • Creative freedom directly on the surface: EP-GRIP URBAN is applied manually. Markings, guide lines, and contrasts are implemented precisely according to the flight deck design.
  • Renovation and design in one step: The coating combines technical refurbishment with a clear visual concept, without additional structures or complex systems.

The result is a surface that visually resembles an aircraft carrier deck while meeting the demands of a heavily used traffic area.

Added value for visitors

The new outdoor area seamlessly extends the restaurant experience beyond the interior. Even before entering “Flight Deck,” visitors feel as if they are on a real aircraft carrier, ready for takeoff.

We are pleased with the result, which demonstrates how technical requirements and creative design can be successfully combined.
