Refurbishment of the Workshop Hall at the Laboe Ammunition Depot
Refurbishment of flooring, joints and coating

Existing damage to floor and joints
Demolition and restoration of the hall surface

The Laboe ammunition depot (officially Marine Ammunition Depot) is an important logistics center of the German Armed Forces, which has been expanded and largely modernized since the beginning of the year. As part of these measures, the workshop hall was also refurbished, as its floor and joints showed significant defects. These included approximately 350 meters of cracks in the concrete slab. In addition, the joints were contaminated with PAHs.

Refurbishment and execution of the work

One of the first steps involved the professional removal and disposal of approximately 700 meters of PAH-contaminated joints. We then repaired the damaged areas. In total, 350 meters of cracks in the concrete slab were repaired and around 70 square meters of surface damage were restored. In addition, we renewed the joint edges along a total length of 700 meters on both sides using epoxy mortar to create a permanently stable base.

At the same time, our team completely removed the existing old coating from an area of approximately 1,330 square meters and prepared the substrate for the new coating. This coating meets slip resistance class R11 and therefore fulfills the requirements for slip resistance and durability. Partial areas of the surface (a total of 275 square meters) were additionally executed as conductive coating systems. Finally, the joints were widened and resealed with a WHG-compliant 2-component grouting compound.

The work at the Laboe ammunition depot was carried out from March to April 2026. The project was completed on schedule and to the full satisfaction of the client.
