Pressure Gouting Technique

On highways, concrete pavements are heavily loaded by today's heavy traffic. If water backs up under the concrete slabs, slab pumping can cause erosion. If subgrade conditions in the joint area should be unstable, concrete slabs can be rehabilitated by lifting and setting.

Slablifting is used to eliminate slab offsets at joints and cracks in the longitudinal and transverse profiles.

Slabsetting is used when vertical movement of the slabs is evident due to vehicle rollover and further erosion with hollow layers under the slabs is to be prevented.

To press the slabs underneath, holes are drilled at defined intervals up to the lower edge of the concrete slab. Silicate or expansion resins are then pressed under the slab, depending on the requirements, and the drilled holes are completely sealed.

Since highly reactive two-component resin systems are used for injection, the time to traffic release is considerably reduced compared with hydraulic grout injection.
