Whether it’s the main through road or the roundabout – roads should always be safe, provide good grip and be level. At the same time, they must be as durable as possible.
In Ribnitz-Damgarten, we have achieved precisely that.
New asphalt laying amidst ongoing city traffic
The task in Ribnitz-Damgarten was to resurface a three-arm roundabout, including the access roads, right in the heart of the town. All three layers – base course, intermediate course and surface course – were to be laid as seamlessly as possible.
A task that requires experience, precision and a well-coordinated team.
So it was exactly the right project for us.
We had already begun work in the district of Vorpommern-Rügen in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania back in 2024. The first phase was completed in 2024, followed by two further construction phases in 2025. The project was concluded with the laying of the surface course across the entire area.
Paving of the surface course using the ‘hot-on-hot’ method
The paving of the surface course involved a special feature. It was carried out using a staggered ‘hot-on-hot’ method. In this process, the surface course was laid in stages in the roundabout and on the main carriageway using two pavers.
Our new medium-sized paver was used for this, which, together with our large paver, ensured a precise and even surface.
The result is a dense, durable surface that offers a noticeably better ride quality.
The project on Bahnhofstraße demonstrates how challenging construction tasks can be carried out efficiently. We are pleased to have completed the work cleanly, efficiently and to our usual high standards.
