RENOVATING AND PROTECTING BRIDGES
High-performance solutions for bridge construction: cap renovation on the Neuhütten railway bridge.
The requirement in this project was to repair two damaged caps on a Deutsche Bahn AG bridge.This bridge had cavities and spalling concrete with exposed reinforcement on both sides. This is a problem that affects many bridge structures in Germany and is becoming increasingly common.
The damaged areas were mechanically repaired by our skilled team. The area was then sandblasted and a bonding slurry was applied as a compound. The prepared area was then reprofiled using a suitable special mortar. In a final step, a coating was applied over the entire cap to provide long-term protection for the structural element.
In four weeks of work, we were thus able to renovate an important part of the railway infrastructure and preserve it for years to come.
