Renovating and maintaining concrete structures - from tunnels and bridges to entire buildings
In this project, the requirement was to rehabilitate two damaged caps on a Deutsche Bahn bridge. On both sides of the bridge there were cavities and concrete spalling with exposed reinforcement. A problem that affects many bridge structures in Germany and is becoming more and more apparent.
The damaged areas were mechanically treated by our competent team. Subsequently, the area was sandblasted and a bonding slurry was applied as a bond. The re-profiling of the prepared area then took place with a suitable special mortar. As a final work step, a coating was applied over the entire cap, thus providing long-term protection for the structural element.
In 4 weeks of work, an important part of the railroad infrastructure was thus rehabilitated and preserved for years to come.
